Van Halen December 5 @ GM Place!

My favorite rock band as a kid visited GM Place and rocked the roof off! This was by far the loudest show GM Place has ever had! I had a tunnel full of rowdies, but I locked them down and was actually able to enjoy some of the Van Halen family's Rock Genius! David Lee Roth, Eddie, Alex and even 16 year old Wolfgang were sharp as they thundered on for more than two hours!

They performed their great classic hard rock hits like "Jump, Panama, Dance the Night Away, The Cradle Will Rock, Eruption, Ain't Talking bout Love, ", etc. The show was produced very well with a massive screen behind the stage flashing some interesting light patterns and images. There were also 3 massive hanging light pillars on either side of the stage that gave a really unique feel to the lighting kit. The stage resembled a ski run with a loop around the VIP section which made for an interesting experience for those fans who shelled out the big bucks!
Van Halen earned $56.7 Million on tour in 2007 which ranks as 5th highest grossing tour in North America. Their high energy act is visiting virtually every city in North America with an Arena. They closed out 2007 @ MGM Grand in Las Vegas and then start up again in late January and perform every second day till the end of April.
